About competition
The essay competition was birthed out of the need to educate the public about their role in the politics of their society and the development of their nation as a whole, and also to inculcate in the students a culture of reading and the spirit of patriotism.
Selection Criteria and Eligibility
- Senior secondary students of any government school in Ikeja 01 constituency can participate in the essay competition.
- Must be a senior secondary school student.
- Submission must be made via email.
- Must include a passport photograph.
- Must submit a photocopy of either birth certificate, National ID, LASSRA or Student ID.
Selection procedure
The submitted essays will be judged and ten will be selected. The writers of the selected essays will then be invited for another round of essay writing. This time around, the essay writing will be done at a physical venue which will be communicated to the selected students. Out of the ten, three will eventually be selected.
